Purgatory Duty

Hello Everyone:

I'm stuck in jury duty purgatory. I'm sitting here, in the assembly room, hoping to get sent home as soon as possible.  The only good part of my day, so far, is that I got to eat lunch outside at a nearby park and took some great pictures. Also, I arranged an informational meeting with a school for next week and I'm updating some apps on my phone. The real downside is I have a headache and I'm cold.  I could go next door, to the snack bar, and get a small coffee to go with my afternoon snack. Really, I just want to go home already. There's a bus stop right across the street and, theoretically, I can take one bus home.  The sitting around and waiting is just torture.  I'm just happy it's not raining or it's my birthday-that's tomorrow.  If I did have to start tomorrow, I'd try to plead it's my birthday and my service should be completed early as a present.  Do you think the clerks would buy it?  Naw, I didn't think so.  Anyway, it's almost three in the afternoon and I'm hoping we get to go home soon.  You know, I didn't even have time to make my coffee this morning?  The BIL was supposed to come at 8:00am to pick me up so I had kind of rush through breakfast. As it turned out,me almost forgot until I texted him. He was appropriately apologetic and we still got to where we needed to be on time. I duly scolded him in a gentle way.  Fantastic, someone is snoring.  During orientation, we told not to post, blog, or tweet about a case.  Nobody said anything about posting, tweeting, or blogging while waiting in purgatory. Just as bad as waiting at the Department of Motor Vechicles.  At least there, there is some purpose to the waiting, here no.  Okay, maybe you get in a pool of potential jurors for a case. Otherwise, you can go stir crazy.  I brought things to do but I've reached the point of bordom. How bored am I? I called mom. Alright, I'm going next door to get some coffee.
