My voting is done. Yours truly cast her vote this morning. The mood at my polling place was festive, no one hanging around, trying to intimidate voters. I was actually done pretty quickly. There was a line, as expected for a historic election. Now it's time to wait for the results. Fingers and toes crossed on this one. I think a lot of people are holding their breath. Honestly, it's not going to end tonight. I think the election won't be settled until January 20, 2017, Inauguration Day. I've already seen minor reports of irregularities and attempts at intimidation. Hopefully, everything and everyone will be alright. I feel optimistic about the outcome. I think Americans will elect the best qualified person for the job. I was just thinking that the way you can tell the kind of president a person will be is how they run their campaign. What they say and do, scripted and unscripted. That matters a lot. It's naive to think that a person will calm down and act presidential once they get into office. Absolutely not true. Yes, the realities office can bit a person hard but people are people. Who they are on the campaign trail is who they will be in office. Also, electing a woman will not magically make the United States a more enlightened place. However, I truly think that by electing someone who displays sobriety and a command of the issues, American can put itself on the right course. Of course, a lot also depends on how stubborn Congress wants to be. Frankly, I've had it with a bunch of grown elected officials pouting and throwing adult tantrums that clog up the running of this country. Let's the next four years are better for all.
