Stress free labor Day

Hello Everyone:

I see we're almost to our goal of 1500 page views.  Fantastic and thanks so much for your support.  It really means a lot to me.  Today is the American and Canadian Labor (or Labour if you're Canadian) Day.  Even though it's still summer, it's kind of the last hurrah of summer.  This summer has been infinitely less stressful than last year when I was hip deep in thesis.  I take the domestic front stresses little better now that thesis is gone and out of my life for good. Amen.  Although, I could decide to go back to school for my Ph.D.  Relax.  Just kidding.  Seriously, I've totally ruled it or a master's in urban planning out, just not right now.  Speaking of things urban, I have the oh so lovely experience this morning of filling out an online application for the city of Beverly Hills.  It's for an Associate Planner's position.  It wasn't so bad, just time consuming.  At least they're not interested in where I went to elementary school, like this one school I applied to.  Please, is that information relevant?  Rhetorical question.

In other news, High Holler-days preparations are going remarkably stress-free.  Unlike Passover, there's no major overhaul of the apartment.  The cooking is at a minimum, for mom, this year.  Last year was awesome because everyone took off for Israel and I was home alone.  Heaven.  Of course I had thesis and one class to finish for my master's but other than that, no one bothered me at all.  Pure bliss.  This year, I'm being adamant about placing boundaries on my time.  Not only do I want time to write and do things other things, I want time away from the big meals and annoying people.  I'd like to spend more time with the bf.  He's far more pleasant company than annoying family and guests.  Two years ago, sis invited this one family to her house for a meal.  In the middle of the meal, the family disappeared.  I found them sitting in the living room of sis's house playing games and reading the paper, in the middle of the meal.  How rude was that.  I wasn't the only one that noticed.

So that's that.  In the mean time, I'm going to try to enjoy the day as much as I can.  I hope you are too.  If you're day is over, I hope it was enjoyable.
