Hello Everyone:
The first round of the High Holidays are done. Overall, it was quiet and drama-free. Again, this was round one. In previous years we've had a visit from the paramedics because a guest took ill and a smoking oven (at the same time) and a mentally ill homeless woman wonder into sis and BIL's backyard. Never a dull moment here. I figure that this year we're due for a visit from the police and fire department. Just kidding. The only kink in the proceedings was my allergies. A little rest, medication, and I was just fine. The bf surprised me with an impromptu visit Friday night. I was originally supposed to come over for dinner on Thursday evening and I actually made it over but my allergies were getting the better of me so I left before the meal. I made up for it the next evening and the bf surprised me with a visit. Yesterday, we went over for lunch. The food and company was meh. At least I went home afterwards and just sprawled out with a book. The heat and humidity made everything uncomfortable. The air conditioning at chez sis was not strong enough and it was so hot you could melt the polar caps. Yom Kippur starts Friday evening. That''s a holiday, actually a fast day, that I can wrap my head around. After that comes a week of more typical Jewish holidays, food and dysfunction.
