Annoyed

Hello Everyone: I am rested and ready for the week, more or less. I got some things done around the house and plenty of sleep so I feel ready to tackle the work week ahead. Yesterday I went over to Sis's house, as usual, for lunch. She and BIL had a guest over that, for lack of anything to say, kind of got on all the adults' bad side. He started off fine, chatting about his preferences in art, then things took a very sharp left turn. He started spouting all this racist, sexist, conspiracy theory stuff that even got under Sis's skin. Her MIL (Grandma) was visibly annoyed. The guest, a single man, is one of those older singles that doesn't much going for them in life beyond work. I'm sure he has some acquaintences at work and the neighborhood that he chats with but, really, not much else. He regularly shows up at the local synagogues to pray and maybe get a meal invite. The BIL, being the nice guy that he can be, invited him over. The single guy has been a previous guest but I haven't had that much interaction with him, until yesterday. What happened? He started going on about all this racist, sexist, conspiracy theory junk that just about irritated eveyone. About the only one who wasn't annoyed was Nephew #2. He's still too young to know any better. I kind of feel bad for the single guy because I suspect he gets a lot of pity invitations. Yet,it's never a good idea to carry on about all this offensive stuff. Grandma and I tried to change the subject but with limited success. Somehow I don't think Sis and BIL will be inviting over so soon. Oh well, at least there was a good dessert.
