The Interview

Hello Everyone: The Brit BF is back in the United Kingdom and the apartment feels different. It seems so big and quieter than usual. I had my interview with the local department store today and it went well. I met with one of the customer service supervisors, who asked me a series of questions and explained what the job is about. It starts off as seasonal position but has potential to be permanent, based on store need and my performance. If I'm hired, I plan to do well enough so that they keep me on. I don't plan to fail. I also got some good news regarding rental assistance. Very happy about that one. The customer service job is broken into three parts: gift wrapping, doing curbside pick ups, and the service experience desk. I could be happy doing all three, just not at the same time. I did mention that I know how to neatly wrap a present, a skill that's never left me. I've had plenty of practice wrapping gifts for other people. As for doing curbside pick ups, it's a good thing I run for exercises because they only give you three minutes to complete the task. As for the service desk, with hands-on training, I can do it. One of the questions I was asked is what skills do I feel are necessary for being successful. I answered, good listening skills, empathy, and good manners. I like the fact that I can walk to work and they offer benefits. I'm sure it has its stressful moments, what job doesn't have stressful moments but the walk home from work gives me the time to decompress. Anyway, onward and upward.
