Break Time

Hello Everyone: First day of my two-week fall break and I went grocery shopping. I needed food for the week. Besides that, I had other things--i.e. cleaning my bed and bathroom and doing laundry-- in mind today but decided it could wait. Instead I decided to do some put a post on the recall election. Glad I did because I really wasn't in much of a housework mood today. I'll take care of it on Friday. Right now I'm just enjoying the quiet. The volume level from the boys could make a heavy metal musician loose his hearing. A good thing I listen to my music loud otherwise I'd probably loose my hearing. I just hope after the break, the lead teacher, the J.Crew male model TA, and I can establish a routine so we can have some order from the chaos. I also hope that we can get some guidance from the administration about what to do with the boys who cause the most problems. They have someone giving them fulltime attention in the classroom but I think they need to be in a special education class or something like that. Anyway, that's really not something I need to fully concern myself with because I'm not the lead teacher. Speaking of which,after the break I hope to start expanding my duties at the school. I'd like to get in front of the class as an associate teacher in social studies. That's something I can do comfortably and I can start to get in some preservation-related lessons. I checked out all my usual preservation sites and found a plenty of material to teach national, state, and local history to a class. Now all I need is the opportunity. Really, chasing after the tykes and doing yard duty isn't my thing. I'd rather be in front of a class, teaching them all sorts of cool things. Besides it could mean more hours and money. Nothing wrong with that. Just like nothing wrong with wanting more out of a job than what I've been hired to do. I don't mind being the ambitious one at work. I'd rather be known as that than the whiny complaining one.
