Forward To The Future

Hello Everyone: Happy New Year. That bloody awful 2020 is finally over and can't say I'm sad to see it end. Forward into the future. The future got off to a bumpy start with the BIL over just exactly what he had in mind when it came to me taking over the household expenses. We've been going back and forth about it without getting in resolution until, finally, yesterday evening I decided to take the proactive approach and get clarity. Much better than walking around in a fog. Another thing I did yesterday was finish the application for unemployment insurance. I resisted doing it for a long because my rock bottom self-esteem kept telling I don't deserve it. I still think I won't get a penny or, at the most, the bare minimum but I certainly won't get anything if I don't ask. One of the questions had to do with COVID--was I unemployed because of the pandemic? One of the responses was taking care of an elderly family who couldn't access their health care provider because of the pandemic. I ticked off that box. Well, it is true. Anyway, tomorrow is a new week and the start of my march toward the future. I'm done being stuck in the past.
