Silver Lining Pandemic
Hello Everyone:
My COVID break from the weekly lunch rolls on. I know this sounds awful but I have found a few silver linings in the pandemic cloud: Free bus rides and not having to go over to my sister's house. Instead, I get hangout all day in my pajamas, doing whatever I please. I sleep as late as I want, eat whenever I get hungry, read, and anything else. Honestly, the past few Saturdays have been a joy. Eventually I'll start going over again, once everything is clear but, for now, I'm enjoying the time away from them. I do kind of miss my older nephews, they're always entertaining, and the booze. Another good thing, I've been making some really good meals for myself. I'm still getting used to the whole cooking and baking for myself but I'm doing alright. I'm moving away from my usual rotation and experimenting with some recipes I found in a cookbook. I found a carrot loaf recipe that I made and it came out good. I'd like to take another pass at a stew recipe. I think I can make it better. Cooking and baking are alot of fun, hard work, but fun. At least I know what's in my food. I don't do anything elaborate, just simple stuff that I can enjoy. Once I feel a little more confident about my skills, I'll try more challenging things, especially if the Brit BF is able to finally come back and stay with me. I want to impress him a little. For now, I'm enjoying the learning experience.
