"Happy Hour"
Hello Everyone:
Mum and I just had our first official "happy hour." Nothing fancy, just a some sparkling apple cider I picked up at the market. We chatted for a few minutes, during which I expressed some concerns about her physical state, the biggest thing being her ongoing anxiety issue. I think that has the most impact on her and everyone's health. Typically what happens it she works herself up into a froth, sometimes over nothing, which causes shallow breathing, rapid heart and pulse rate. I explained to her it's no good for her to do that and she needs to see someone, other than a friend, about it. Mum has a friend, one of the hens, that she likes to talk to. This person is a generally cheerful upbeat person, fine. However this hen has tendency to put a happy face on everything which is something that mum does't always need. Sometimes she needs someone to be blunt. Also, her friends can only help her so much. She really needs a professional to evaluate her. Speaking of professionals, mum put her name on a wait list to get an appointment with her doctor next month. Of course, I have no way to check it unless I directly communicate with doctor's office. I might just do that because mum has a habit of telling people what they want to hear, not actual fact. I also suggested that once she can go outside again, she should sign for the senior program in PLB. She can take advantage of her ladies in waiting have them take her to the Activities Center for whatever program is scheduled for that day. Why not and she might make a friend. Anyway, it's dinner time.
