All Good
Hello Everyone:
It has been a great couple of days. Yesterday, I finally got to see my eye doctor. Normally, this wouldn't rate much or any enthusiasm but when you're in lockdown, any chance you get to go out and make contact with other humans is a thrill. The thrill was tempered a bit by the fact that my regular optometrist retired two months ago without notice, not even an email. His practice was taken over by another doctor and the office moved to a nicer location. No worries, I got what I came for: an annual eye exam and new contacts. The best part was the bus ride there and back was free both ways. The local metro is waiving the fares during the pandemic. No complaints on my part. While I was waiting for the ride home, I stood in front of a Thai restaurant that I used to go to. The food was good, not that I had much to compare it to but my favorite menu item was the deep-fried coconut batter bananas, fried to perfection. Not too sweet with a cake-like consistency. That and the tofu-spicy noodles were my absolute favorites. Good times. Today was even better. Yesterday I got an email from PLB about a water shut off, today, in my building because of repairs. The timing coincided with the shower I wanted to take before going to the grocery store. During my morning run, I went by the grocery store and saw there was no line to get in. I decided that if the water was still on when I got home, I would take that shower and eat lunch before I went to the store. If not, then I would shop first. Again, the universe was on my side because the water was on, I bathed and ate before I went to the store. There was a line but it wasn't too bad and I got what was on my list. All good. Speaking of food, time to eat.
