A rather cool and crisp late autumn day. I love this real autumn weather. Nothing like a little nip in the air, golden red leaves on the ground, and someone to cuddle up with at night. Okay, I have the first two, the guy is in the UK. Speaking of which, I finally located a website that will ship to the UK without too much hassle. I checked the ASOS website to see if I, in America, could have something delivered to an English address. The customer service person who replied said, "no problem." Great because I picked out a fabulous gift for the Brit BF and it means I don't have to go to a store first then to the post office or UPS place. Yeah. That's one less hassle to deal with. In general, the weekend has been pretty typical. Mom being her usual whiny, naggy self and me just avoiding any unnecessary contact, retreating to some reading material. The rest of the day looks about status quo. Mom was pretty amusing yesterday, over lunch, suggesting I check out some singles Chanukah events so I could meet someone "appropriate." Implication-white and Jewish, preferably religious, male and female. Please, I really hate those events because it's hard to meet people and it feels too forced. Second, I'm happy with the small select group people in my life. Regardless of race, ethnicity, gender preference, they're good people who I want in my life. I've tried the singles events and I hate them. I prefer to make friends more organically. By the way, in case you were wondering Chanukah starts Tuesday evening. That one kind of snuck up on me. At least it's a low key, no fuss holiday. Just give me the jelly doughnuts and chocolate coins and I'm happy.
