Down Time, What's That?

Hello Everyone:

It's Cyber Monday, the day to crash your favorite retailers's websites.  Please, spare me the shoppers's feeding frenzy.  My inbox takes me forever in the morning to get through.  I can't wait until mid-January.

In other news, life moves on at a snail's pace.  I think this due, in part, to being the end of the year and everything and everyone seems to slow down.  I guess that's a good thing, slowing down, having time to take stock on everything that's gone in the past year.  Everyone slowly settling in for a winter's nap.  I prefer the constant activity.  As I've said before, I'm no good with unstructured time.  I simply don't know what to do with myself.  I'm terrible on vacations, I just want to sight see all the time.  Even the dinner table is place for me to engage in some activity.  Mom, on the other hand, just wants to sit. That's it.  Do nothing.  She even complained that whenever she goes to the local supermarket, all she ever sees is people doing the smartphone walk-talk thing.  Mom, I have some news for you, the tabloids are boring and some us have our shopping lists on our phones.  This is life in the millennium. Getting back to my constant need for activity.  I just like to use my time as efficiently as possible.  You, catching up on emails and texts over breakfast; posting some blog related articles or other cool things on the social media sites.  You know, the things that sometimes slip past you.  Other times, it's just me avoiding you.  When I do find myself with down time, I look for things to do.  Just sitting there staring into space isn't my thing.  I sometimes think I should live in Germany, where everyone has every minute of the day planned.  Settling down for a long winter's nap is not my thing.
