Wow, I can't believe it's almost mid-August. Where did the summer go? The Minion is finishing camp this week and the niece and nephews start school soon. I had an interesting realization yesterday. One of the things I want to do with my historic preservation blog is make money off of it. I have the audience and I feel totally confident in my work. BF #2 (new guy) sent me a couple of videos to watch about creating a YouTube channel. It look pretty simple to do, now it's just a matter of creating content. I spend some time doing some research to see what are the real pressing issues in architecture, historic preservation, urban planning and design. I could enlist bf#2 to write some sizzle without dumbing down the message. Then, of course, there's the making of the podcast. I need to figure out a way to find someone with video equipment who will work my rates, for free. I certainly don't own a video camera and I don't think a cellphone is going to cut it. The interesting realization in all this is this something I've been thinking about for some time and somehow the universe is making it happen, slowly. Where all this will lead to is another story. I need to think about what I want to achieve in the short and long term. Right now my immediate goal is to earn some money to wean myself off of mom. Just enough for groceries and the occasional tube of lipstick. Long-term, a place of my own, properly furnished. Career-wise, hmm, I'll have to think about it. For now, I'll just take it step by step.
