Yours truly got some very disturbing news this week. It seems that PLB management wants to convert my regular workspace into a spinning and yoga studios. Well that's extremely inconvenient. Where am I and everyone suppose to go and work? I could go to the library, where I am now, or the nearest coffee place but those are also very inconvenient for a couple of reasons. The library is all well and fine but I can't leave my things unattended to use the bathroom, grab a cup of coffee, and the wifi is spotty. The coffee places are also good but there's the expectation of purchasing something and that can add up quickly. The PLB Business Center is better because it's closer to my apartment and I can run home quickly if I need to. The wifi may not be as broad but it is very reliable. I can leave my things unattended and run to the bathroom when necessary. Needless to say, no one including the Residents Association is happy but as someone explained, this what management wants in order to attract new tenants. Yes, additional physical exercise facilities are great but also having a set workspace is necessary. It's also good for students who receive tutoring because they can have a place to study. To remedy the situation, I pitched to a member of the PLBRA board two ideas, first adding a second floor to the existing Business Center and second, renovating an tower basement classroom. The second one seems more feasible because it involves less work, time, and money. The equally good news is that the representive from PLBRA is on board with my suggestion and would get on the next meeting's agenda. Hooray. I'll keep you posted on developments.
