Grumpy Me

Hello Everyone:

I love this image don't you?  Well at this very moment, it encapsulates my mood.  I was sitting very quietly a branch of a local coffee place when this elderly woman with her husband and caregiver come over and make a huge stink about vacating the table.  Apparently me and this other person, also working quietly at the table, were sitting in the designated disabled table.  I wouldn't have minded getting up had the woman been a bit more polite about it not a total beeyatch.  In general, I just in one of my moods again.  Mom, as usual, is being annoying.  Her fixation today is going to the .99 cent Store for whatever she presumably needs.  I think I just being too sensitive today.  Anyway, I'm listening to some really great music courtesy of spotify.  The just played this really amazing spoken word piece called "God."  It's Simon LeBon recording his observations about life in 1987.  It's a really cynical sounding spoken word cut from, I think, you Duran fans can correct me, Big Thing.  The first time I heard it, I thought "wow, this is really and truly amazing.  Such gut level feeling."  I loved it.  It's now one of my favorites.

More importantly, I think I moved to another country overnight.  First, the Defense of Marriage Act is overturned, now I read that the United States Senate, in a show of actual bipartisanship, passed a bill that would overhaul the Immigration Law in this country.  The Senate of the United States of America?  Half of the most dysfunctional federal legislative bodies?  O.K. something sounds fishy.  There are actually people in Washington DC doing something right.  Am I still living in the United States of America.  Is this the dawn of a new era?  Whatever.  It's great.  Maybe government can work after all.
