Monday Musings

Hello Everyone: Back to work tomorrow. Fortunately I have short shifts tomorrow through Thursday and longer ones on the weekend. Such is life in retail land. Hopefully it won't be to crazy making so I can chill a little bit with my co-workers. Last week a few of us were chatting about what we'd wear on our last day. One co-worker said he'd go all out with a suit. My last day outfit would be a big middle finger to the dress code: hoodie, track or pajama pants, and flip flops. Why not? Seriously, it's way too soon to be thinking about that. Today I had another thought, what song would I want played as walk out of the department store for the last time as an employee. I'm thinking something loud and obnoxious. I have to really think about that one but I'm leaning towards punk rock. Or maybe hijack the public address system and spin something loud. Anyone for speed metal? Just some entainting thinking out loud. I do have one concern and that is what's going to happen when my immediate supervisor goes on vacation. She's scheduled to go on vacation very soon, leaving us short handed while she's away. The good news about that is it could mean extra hours for everyone. The bad news is the micro-manager will be hovering over us. I decided I'm not going to worry about it because I'm just focused on doing my job. If the micro-manager says do this, I'll do this. If the micro-manager re-arranges the back room (again), then I'll find my way around. Above all, keep looking for more career-oriented work. The nice thing about having the kind of resume is that I have skills and education that would make me a desireable entry-level candidate. That's the big advantage I have over my co-workers. Another good thing about looking for career oriented work right now is I have a job that I don't intend to quit until I have something else and hopefully very soon.
