Audio Overload

Hello Everyone: A wonderful day off. I slept in, went running, and got some grocery shopping done. Tomorrow it's no sleeping in because I need to do a few things before work. I love my days off because I don't have to get dressed and I can get some things done around the house, or not. Mostly I love the peace and quiet that remind me of Lockdown 1.0. There were hardly any cars and, in general, barely noise except from mum's machines. Occasionally I'd listen to my podcasts or music but beyond that, quiet. Kind of knew what time of the day it was by the sound of traffic. I still like the quiet but there's a little more activity going on outside because it's two years later and life is more or less back to normal. Now that I work in the department store, the 90s flashback music is on a loop and it's a bit of sound overload. I've learned to tune it out so I can focus on my work but it can get a wee much, especially if I'm trying to close out the register. I really wish someone would turn off the music when the store closes, if anything, to give whatever remaining customers a hint that we're closed. On my days off I like to intersperse the quiet with some music I choose or a podcast. This way, it doesn't feel like sound overload. Anyway, it's back to the grindstone tomorrow and Thursday, then I'm off through Monday.
