Needs More Organization
Hello Everyone:
My difficult work week ended on a good note. The number of tests I had to review dramatically dropped to a more manageable handful. I had a really productive private chat with my supervisor about a few things that have been on my mind, including the case load. Apparently there's someone (Person X) who can do 200 tests in a single day. Therefore, the higher reasoned that the rest of us can do 100 cases. When I first heard that, I thought good for Person X, he or she can process 200 tests in a single day. Then I thought either Person X is that good or is getting help. Regardless, I think the expectation of everyone else doing 100 tests a day is unrealistic, something I pointed out to both my supervisor and recruiter, when I talked to her on Friday. I told them that if Person X's test load looks anything like mine, it's all easy cases. There's always going to be one test that throws everything off. I also told the recruiter that the school district failed to fully understand the scope of the project, which is reflected in the lack of a coherent and cohesive operational policy. This has left the supervisors with the task of piecing everything together as we go along, creating a lack of consistency in the policy and procedures. One minute we do things this way, the next we're being threatened with write ups for doing the same thing. It's not a way to run a project. The silver lining in all this chaos is now that the pace is down shifting, maybe it'll give the school district and the supervisors a chance to get things more organized so that when the fall terms starts, we can all work better. Who knows, I may be on to better things by then.
