Boy Needs Looking After

Hello Everyone: The pace at work has finally slowed enough so I can blog to pass the time between assignments. I think this'll be the situation until mid-August, when the pace starts to pick up again. That's a good thing because the fewer tests mean that I can focus on doing quality work. The point is that the newly reinforced good habits will carry over to the busy period. Right now we're all just sitting around trying to entertain each other. Over the past weekend, Sis and BIL announced they had travel plans for the beginning of August and planned to leave the nephews home. Nephew #1 (a legal adult) didn't seem too thrilled about having to look after his younger brother, Nephew #2 (a minor). Nephew #1 tried to argue that Nephew #2 was old enough to look after himself, which is technically true but he's not exactly the most responsible type. Then again, who is really a responsible teen. Let me put it this way, Nephew #2 needs to be constantly reminded to eat, change his clothes, and clean himself. I did offer to do wellness checks on the boys and Nephew #1 did suggest that Nephew #2 stay with me, which was soundly rejected by Sis. No worries. The really big announcement was Nephew #2 finally wore down his parents and he's transferring to the school he wanted to go next term. I could've told Sis and BIL that his now-former school wasn't the one for him. It was too structured and left little down time. The lad needs his down time. His new school has a less brutal schedule. Ah well.
