Some Deep Thoughts
Hello Everyone:
I had a rather nice day, except for a trip to the grocery store. Thanks to COVID-19, everyone bought out the toilet paper. Really? Toilet paper? I can understand rationing cleaning supplies, paper towels, and cases of water but what's with the toilet paper? Toilet paper has no magic protective power against anything. It's just something to wipe your derriere with, not to ward off illness. I finally found a six-pack at another store. The store, in their infinite wisdom, ordered extra cases. Needless to say I picked up a package and I'll get more next week. People, please, leave some toilet paper for the rest of us. In other news, I'm so happy that Harvey Weinstein got 23 years for his crimes. I'm in awe of all the brave women who stepped forward to take responsibility for their actions by confronting and conquering their monster. I also feel some sadness for his ex-wife and children and the way he publicly humiliated them. His ex-wife is a well-known dress designer who clothed some the best-known actresses. The ex-wife said she had no one idea about her ex-husband's heinous behavior and I have no reason not to believe her. Some--the chattering social media class--have suggested that she knew about it and directly benefited from it. Maybe but you can say the same thing about every dress designer who clothes celebrities. One thing the Weinstein case has forced me to do is re-examine my attitudes about feminism. It's something in process but suffice it to say that I've been taking a hard look at a woman's agency. Anyway, my thoughts on the subject aren't ready for public consumption.
