Option Two

Hello Everyone:

I am practicing social distancing and loving it. It sounds strange but I’ve decided to embrace social distancing to the fullest. I came to the conclusion that there to approaches to life during pandemic: One, give in to the fear and paranoia. Two, accept the fact that COVID-19 is a threat but do whatever I need to do reduce my chances of getting the disease. I chose the second option. Take whatever SENSIBLE precautions, like washing my hands and avoiding crowds, to reduce my chance of getting sick. To that end, I had a great time at nearly empty park this morning and even had plenty of time to pickup the newspaper and a cup of coffee. Of course the prediction of rain is making social distancing easier right now. I may have to make a couple of adjustments in my schedule but I can manage it.  Mum has to stay home because of her health conditions. The only downside is the BIL had to be hospitalized for pneumonia and the doctor did test him for COVID-19. Let’s hope it’s negative. Sis and the nephews are at home.  Everyone sounds like they’re in good spirits. So what am I up to during this grim and uncertain time?  More or less the same old same. That’s the engine for my coping mechanism. Try to maintain a sense of normalcy.  The inconveniences, thus far have been minor. I’m also trying to remain optimistic that this, too, will pass.   Diseases are scary but good reliable information is key.  All the nonsense on the internet just contributes to the paranoia. Ignore it.   Life does move one even during a pandemic.
