First Day For The Carer
Hello Everyone:
The carer actually showed up today. She even came 10 minutes early, nice. She did make a good impression by helping mum out, cleaning up her room and bath, making her food, even taking her out to the local coffee place across the street. She did, however, get on my nerves with her incessant questions. I realize it was her first day and she needs to know where everything is but I'm on auto-pilot and stopping to answer a question about where something is throws me off. I just hope she picks up on the routine quickly otherwise it's not going to work. I still don't entirely trust and may ask an ex-private investigator friend of mine to check her out. Better to be safe than not. Hopefully tomorrow will go a little more smoothly. Anyway, the rest of the day went pretty status quo. One thing for sure, I am looking forward to getting some real sleep tonight. I've notice lately that I've become a lighter sleeper. Usually I can fall into a very restful sleep but with the stress of looking after mum, my sleep hasn't be quite as restful as I like. I'm considering taking melotonin or some other non-addictive sleep aid but I really don't want to do that. I prefer to fall asleep naturally. One thing I am looking forward to is not going to any appointments with mum, at least for a while. I don't need to remind what a drag on my day they are. My hope is that mum will either make the carer a permanent thing or find someone else on a regular basis.
