Semi-Eventful

Hello Everyone:

It’s been a fairly uneventful few days.  The one big event was thr leaky radiator in my room. That created water stains boew the carpet, prompting me to use every available towel to blot them. I called maintenance this morning and someone came up to check the radiator and another person cane with a de-humidifier to dry the water. That machine has to stay in place overnight and is making my room very toasty. I thought about sleeping in the living room but my bed is more comfortable. I’ll make sure you have enough air flowing so it doesn’t become unbearable.  I managed to squeeze in a much needed hair cut and color, got to look nice for the youngest nephew’s bar mitzva. I decided that I’m going to just pick and choose which of the event-related activities, aside from the actual services, I want to attend. I really don’t have much interest in going to every get-together. There’s a reception on Thursday evening, Friday evening family dinner, services the next day, and Sunday brunch.  At least this time I’m not being forced into full attendance. I already made it crystal clear that I plan to come when I come, leave when I leave. I’m not wasting an entire weekend with people I rarely see and barely tolerate. I know this doesn’t help my likability quotient but we’re not talking about people I have to work with.  Anyway, I could really careless about them. My BIL is happy tongonback to work after being furloughed for over a month. I was teasing him Friday that my nephew’s gala Star Wara meets The Minions gala bar mitzva costs money and someone has to pay for it. Naw, he’s not having that kind of event, even though he’d love it. His school issued guidelines about these celebrations. Finally, I have to go with mum to another appointment tomorrow. I hate the drain on my time and really wish she’d find someone else to go with her.
