Nice Weekend

Hello Everyone:

I had a fairly nice weekend. Aside from getting the chores done in a relatively short time, I went to a celebration for the new baby. It was yesterday at my sister and BIL’s synagogue. It was nice and pink. Well, the new baby is a girl. I think the shock of being parents is slowly wearing off my niece and her man-child husband. Eventually they’ll settle into the whole parenting thing. It may take another child or two but they’ll figure it out. After the party, we went back to Sis’s house for lunch. Lunch was okay except for the fact that it was mostly leftovers and my disinter was sick. Sick enough to go to urgent care this morning where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. Not fun. She admitted to me yesterday that despite her annual work mandated flu shot, the stress of preparing for Passover and the new baby got to her. Mum got all freaked out because she though it would lead to another cancer diagnosis. My sister had two bout of Non-Hodgkins Leukemia; enormous chemotherapy and radiation to pretty much kill every cancerous cell. Thank goodness she’s been in remission for over ten years.  Mum still treats her like this fragile thing, rushing to take care of her every time she has so much as a sniffle. It really annoys me because on those rare occasions when I’m sick, I don’t get so much as a glass of water.  Whatever. I know she plays favorites.  Besides if she started acting like I’m a human being with feelings, I’d very suspicious.  So, I hope she feels better.
