Hello Everyone:
A fairly quietly Monday to start the week. Mum has given up on the useless speculation about Sis's health, for now. Today mum was busy replaying her morbid fascination with stories of terrorist acts in Israel. She'll share with me how many people were injured or killed. Then she'll share about the "evil leftist Israelis" who support the Palestinians in any way, shape, and form. I usually tune it out or change the subject, like today, I shared about the new royal baby and an email from Park La Brea. Much better, less morbid. I have no idea why mum thinks I want to hear this news everyday. Honestly, I find this daily recitation of terrorism too much. Also, it gets boring to hear the same thing day in, day out. Another subject of fascination with her is the tension between the religious and secular Israeli communities. The whole thing is pretty silly if you ask me. I guess living in the United States, in a city where religious and secular communities, of all faiths, live side-by-side, without much tension. I sometimes think that if the super-religious Jewish communities dropped into Los Angeles and saw their American counterparts living, working, and shopping together, their heads would explode. If you ask me, I think that entire country should take a couple of Xanax and down it with a glass of Chardonnay. I sometimes think I should spike mum's beverages with liquid THC, might make her more tolerable. I wish she hadn't thrown out her Ativan prescription. Oh well, I'm sure she'll be onto my eldest nephew soon enough. In the meantime, dinner beckons.
