Good Talk

Hello Everyone:

A very cold President’s Day. Yes, it’s still winter, according to the calendar but it’s really cold because the wind is blowing hard. I had a really nice surprise today. I was waiting in line for the self-scan when I noticed a familiar looking, well dressed, red headed woman. Taking a risk, I went over to introduce myself and asked about her name. It turned out we’re Facebook friends with a mutual friend. It was so great to meet a friend in person. Loved that. The best part is our names are similar so  we can really miss with people if we’re in the same room. We chatted for a few minutes before she had to leave. The afternoon got better with an hour long phone chat with the Brit BF. He still has a future planned that includes me. That’s nice to hear. I was able to clearly state my position. I told him that moving to the UK is still in the mix but Brexit has kind of thrown things into chaos. Further, if he’s planning to come back and I’m going there, at some point we’re going to meet. In order for both of us to make it work, we have to be going in the same direction. He brought up doing some post-Graduate work in Manchester, which sounds great. I told him that I’m not sure if my interests would be best served in the academic world. I had to be honest with him about my position right now. I think he understood. We had a nice chat. Right now, we can get not talk and plan. Anyway, tomorrow I have another Museum lecture to go to. Excited about that.
