Good Reads

Hello Everyone:

A quiet day for me. It was Labor Day so my usual workspace was open half the day. Rather than try to find a place to work, I got a couple of things done and caught up on some reading. Now that the Sometime BF occupies my weekends and prime time reading, I have to read when and where I can.  It's mostly fun reading, not mandatory so I enjoy it more. I just finished Bruce Springsteen's autobiography; a definite must read. One book I'm thoroughly enjoying is A Burglar's Guide to The City by Geoff Manaugh. It's a very entertaining, informative, and strangely educational look at how burglars subvert architecture to get away with their misdeeds. So far I've learned which houses are easy marks and gotten an introduction to the art of lock picking. That one could be a handy skill to learn; there are tools and manuals available on Amazon. The definition of what constitutes enclosed space is pretty Byzantine.  For example, an outhouse can be considered an enclosed space but who would want to burgle an outhouse?  One conclusion I've already drawn is that the best burglars carefully plan their deeds.  There are burglars who do act on impulse and they're usually the ones that get caught. Not that I would consider taking up breaking and entering as new hobby or anything like that. It does, however, give me a new way to look at space and hopefully understand it better.
