Passing Over

Hello Everyone:

Oh gosh what a weekend. It started out just fine but yesterday, I had the mother of all headaches. It was bad enough to make me nauseous. If that wasn't bad enough, mom was carrying on about her phone, again. About mom, she finally took off for Israel today. Thank goodness. Anyway, back to my thought, my headache was exhausting enough to make me want to curl up on the kitchen floor and sleep. Really. Mom insisted that I get up off the floor and go to bed. Okay I was fine with that but not with her following me to my room and standing outside my bathroom while I washed my face and brushed my teeth.  Fortunately, I got plenty of rest and it was back to status quo.  Back to mom. I had a few hours of peace and quiet before mom started calling me with updates. I finally texted her, saying, I'm not interested in the regular updates.  I want to maintain radio silence. The Brit BF reminded me that I can always let calls go to voicemail.  I plan to to do that, for the most part. At least for now, I have a nice chunk of absolute quiet. I already enjoyed two chatter-free meals where I could just sit and read the newspaper. For the most part, the next few weeks are business as usual. I have a confirmed meal invitation for this coming weekend and a tentative one for the week after.  The second one made me a little suspicious because I thought it was a pity invitation. However, I've been assured it isn't that.  I told mom and the BIL that I don't want to be set for any Passover meals because I just want to keep things low- to no-key.  I plan to let Passover pass over. I still have a headache and I think another good night's sleep should take care of it.
