Hello Everyone:
Just another very sleepy Sunday for me. I keep saying that I'll make every effort to get more sleep and not give into the late night movie watching temptation but it never works out. Right now, I going through the House of Cards series and it's like really good chocolate, one episode isn't enough. It's a great series, what more can I say about it. Fortunately or unfortunately I'm going have a little break in the HOC action because I'm waiting for the season three DVDs to become available. In the meantime, I have other ways to entertain myself. Yesterday, mom asked about all the controversy over the Confederate flag. She's about a week behind in current events and the Orthodox Jewish community newspaper she reads doesn't do any kind of a good job of explaining the issue. So I simply told what it meant and why it was long past the time for it come down, be put in a box and labeled "history class teaching tool." The part she fully got was the fact that the Civil Wat ended on April 9, 1865 and the flag should've come down for good by April 10, 1865. Simple enough concept. Then she carried on about the United States Supreme Court's ruling on the legality of same sex marriages. Hey, no is inviting her to a same sex wedding nor is anyone asking her to officiate at one. I look at this way, SCOTUS ruled that married same sex couples are entitled to the same legal privileges and benefits as heterosexual couples. Nothing more or less. Would I go to a same sex wedding? Sure, if I knew either half or both halves of the couple. Got to go. Time to Skype with he Brit BF.
