I'm feeling a little creatively fried right now. I'm in the process of writing a long post on fighting climate change through better community planning and I'm not feeling it right now. Instead, all I want to do is chill somewhere and not think about it. This happens every once in an odd while, I need to step away from the blog and recharge. I suppose every creative person gets that way too. Some, like me, can step away for a few days and come back ready to go, others step away for longer periods. My doing something else is sitting in my local chain bookstore, telling you how neurotic I am. You already knew that. Part of the lack of creative energy was a hostage situation on Tuesday. Fortunately, I wasn't the hostage but it was scary just the same. What happened was a gentleman was taking a nap in his PLB tower apartment. When he woke, he found an intruder lurking about. When the gentleman tried to confront the intruder, the intruder pulled a gun and held the resident hostage. Police, SWAT team, and K-9 unit was called. The intruder eventually let the resident go and escaped. The police did a floor-to-floor; unit-to-unit search without any luck. While all this was going on, my work bag and laptop were home alone in my workspace. Fortunately I was able to retrieve them and eventually went home. That seemed to take some of my creative energy. The Brit BF seems to think it was a crime of opportunity, which I agree with. The intruder probably wandered into the building and found an in. For now, things have returned to status quo. I'll be write back at the writing, fresh on Monday.
