Tats and other

Hello all and welcome to the Wednesday edition of my blog. For those of you who are Catholic, congratulations on the election of Pope Francis I. The first South American and Jesuit Pope. I don't know too much about the Jesuits other than they were founded by Ignatius of Loyola and seem to be a more conservative bunch. They're very active in educational, missionary and cultural pursuits. We'll see what he's reign is going to be like. Lately I've been flirting with the idea of getting additional piercings and a tattoo. I've always thought the idea sounded good from the standpoint of annoying my rather conservative leaning immediate family. Lately though, I've been thinking that I feel like a sailor that's crossed the equator and needs to mark the occasion (no pun intended). In this case, I completed my Masters thesis and feel the need to acknowledge this. The only thing that's right now holding me back is working up the nerve, the cost, it involves needles, it's permanent, and I can't be buried in Jewish cemetery. The cost thing maybe be workable because I picked out a couple of small designs: cat woman or the Chinese imperial dragon, my Chinese astrological sign. O.K. I know that could always laser off the tattoo and the needle thing, well, that makes me a bit anxious. The piercings, on the other hand, are little more doable. Yes, I know there's a needle involved but it's quick. Where would I get the additional earrings? I already have two in one ear so the other ear is the first site and my navel. The tattoo would also be in a non-visible place because, I still have to be around people that may not take too kindly to visible piercings and tattoos. I think I'm getting more comfortable with the idea, the more I say it out loud. That may change when I actually go and do it. I suppose once I get it done, I'll be good with it. I think I'll start with the piercings before I move on to the tattoo.
