No More Same Old, Same Old
Hello Everyone:
Passover is about to pass over and it was a surreal one. Another indication of the current state of things. Oh well, this too shall pass. It has to, right? I mean, after all, you can't call any of this normal or the new normal. I prefer to think of the current state of things as a temporary situation. There are signs that something that resembles business as usual will return. That's hopeful news. I would like to just go to the nearest cafe, get something, and sit down with a book. What I really want to is get my hair cut. I'm too chicken to trim my own bangs, YouTube tutorial video notwithstanding. I don't suppose that once the restrictions are lifted, that back to the same old, same old will be possible. It can't because the same old, same old no longer exists, if it existed in the first place. I think the virus did away with the same old, same old and replaced it with something that feels better. Something that encourages more human interaction--a tough one for someone like me who dreads it. My latest human contact effort came this morning, during my run. I started chatting with a utility worker near a job site. I have to really applaud the men and women, deemed essential, working right now. I'm sure they'd rather be safely at home but come out every morning to do their job. We had a nice chat. Anyway, tomorrow is one more day closer.
