Experienced Required

Hello Everyone:

I needed to take a break from a long post and do something else.  The post was on gentrification but it seemed to be taking forever. Part of the reason for it taking so long was the Bluetooth keyboard on the iPad needed to be recharged and I had plug it in.  I'm really terrible at the hunt and peck method of typing.  Funny thing is, I can type quickly on a computer keyboard but on an antique typewriter, it's hunt and peck.  Anyway, I switched gears and started filling out the food assistance application.  So far, it's pretty straight forward but I need to get some more information about household expenses. I'll have to ask mum about that one.  What I would really like is to have a paycheck to I can afford my own groceries and everything else.  Sometimes, looking for work just feels so futile.  It's like every potential employer wants an experienced employee.  Fine, no issues with that.  The problem seems to be in order to get experience, you have to have experience.  Does that make sense?  No, it doesn't make sense that in order to get an entry level job, you have to have related work experience just to be considered.  Then it's no longer an entry level job.  One thing I that I have been interested in is volunteering at a local museum.  It sounds like it would be a great opportunity.  Right now, the local museum is not taking any applications but will re-consider in the spring.  I figure that might be a good way to get some experience.  There are other museums in my area so I'll try again.  Another thought is to fully pursue my urban planning and design interests.  There's a neighborhood council that sends me email so that might be something to actually open and read.  The goal here is to add some related work experience and get my foot in the door so if a paying job within my skill set opens up, I can walk in.  Hey, whatever will get me my desired result.  In the meantime, I toil ahead.
