Recruiter

Hello Everyone:

On Friday, I was cleaning up the kitchen and by chance, I checked my email and texts. Aside from an urgent message from telling to turn off the oven, there was a LinkedIn message from someone. Curious, I checked it out. It was from a human resource person at a corporate, multi-national design and consulting firm with a local office. The HR person read my profile and wanted to know if I was interested in speaking to them about an architectural historian job. I'm certain I wasn't the only one who received this message, nevertheless, I replied that I was interested. It wasn't a job offer or a first interview but more like let's set up a phone call to talk. I'll definitely treated like a first interview even if it's maybe a preliminary conversation. I don't think this was a scam because I've heard of this company. I've never been approached by a recruiter so this'll be a totally new experience. Hopefully the HR person thoroughly read my profile and checked out the blog. I'm guessing that the answer to both questions is yes and the HR person still wants to talk to me. Okay, whatever. I have nothing to lose from a simple conversation. I'll give the HR person my usual song and dance about being an accidental preservationist and why I started the blog. If the HR person is still interested, then great.  Besides, I had a thought over the weekend, since they offices across the United States and around the world, I could parlay it into a cross country move or pond hop to the U.K.  Another thought, if they offer tuition reimbursement, I could use it toward that second master's degree in urban planning. First I have to secure the job, then start taking full advantage of it.
