Hello Everyone:
It was another hot one today. At least my workspace was air conditioned. Technology-wise, better. There were still a few moments where I was ready to take a bat to my laptop. It was maddening enough to prevent me from finishing a pretty good post on infrastructure. In other news, I think I'm finally over the jet lag. I still haven't gotten back into the L.A. vibe. I look at the clock and automatically add eight hours. I'm not falling asleep at strange times. I still miss the UK, especially the cooler weather. I have a whole list of reasons to turn around and go back to the UK, chief of which is the Brit BF. The question is what would I do there? By that I mean work. I can't stay at home all day and blog. I could but I use the paycheck too. I suppose I could work at a coffee place in Manchester but if I won't do it here, why would work as barista in the UK. I think I would want something more substantive. I need to do some research on working in the UK. What if I get this job with planning department? Honestly, I'm not holding my breath. That's actually a good thing because I'm not setting myself for major disappointment. Also, I like to keep my options open. Like today, I applied to an online journal for a writer/editor job. The journal has a UK edition. Whatever happens, happens and that's about as good as gets.
