Live In The UK?

Hello Everyone:

It's Sunday evening and time to get ready for the week. During our Skype date, the Brit BF floated the idea of my meeting with people, within my field, to discuss employment opportunities. It's an idea I've entertained myself but never really gave it any serious thought. The idea of living and working in a foreign country does have a certain appeal. At least I won't have to learn a foreign language, unless you call British English a foreign language. It's not like I have anything or anyone in Los Angeles.  So the idea of moving to the UK sounds like a good proposition. It's all speculative and I don't work on speculation. The UK trip may come sometime this summer, when the weather is good. Of course, if I get this job with the city, or any job, that could upset plan or postpone them. I mentioned this idea to mom, over dinner, and she thought I was out of my mind.  Besides, she told me, I might not like London. Well, London is a very expensive city to live and there are other cities to live.  I told mom that when it comes to the UK, I have no expectations. A total blank slate. This way I'm not resentful or disappointed.  Good way to approach things. Another thing, mom wonders where I would stay in the UK. I told her I would be staying with him. We are adults, not children. One thing is for sure, traveling to the UK would be an exciting experience.
