Hello Everyone:
A very chill weekend for yours truly. Nothing like having ample time to read and sleep in to make for a very relaxing weekend. The cooler damper weather is adding to the mood. It's the kind of weather that makes you want to stay in bed and read all day. I didn't quite do that but I did get some reading done before my weekly Skype date. After the computer related fits yours truly had this week, some time to recharge was just the ticket. Tomorrow I go back to the Apple Store for what I hope will be a not too stressful appointment with the Geniuses. One thing I can do while I'm waiting for my laptop is check out this link I got from a marketer who wants to sponsor my blog. It sounds like it could be a lucretive venture, if it is legitimate. I told the Brit BF that I'm very particular about the type of advertising I place in my blogs. They must reflect who I am and what my values are about not just random adverts for fast food places and dubious products. I want the advertising to focus on cultural venues and events such as museums or live performances. I value the intelligence of my readers and I'm grateful for their support. Therefore, I don't want to insult their intelligence by placing adverts for places and things that have no connection to the message I'm trying to get out. The message being: take a thoughtful look at where you live and work. Consider the buildings and spaces you move through. How do issues within and without affect your life? The image of my blog I want to put across is a thoughtful, serious one but still knows how to laugh. In short, I take what I do seriously but I don't take myself so seriously. So we'll see what comes out of this. In the meantime, I'm hoping the National Trust comes through with an interview request. That would be so cool if that happened. It sounds nerdy to say I want to work for the main historic preservation organization in the United States but I believe that writing for their magazine would be an agreeable work environment for me. Let's hope things work out.
