Hello Everyone:
A quiet evening for yours truly. The day was a pretty average Thursday-some chores around the house and an errand. I did chat with the Brit BF for a while, always good. I told him I haven't heard back from a couple of places I recently applied to: the National Trust and the Apple Store. I don't expect to hear back from the Apple Store quickly because they get a lot of applications. It seems like a nice place to work: everyone appears to be happy, helpful, and some the perks are attractive. The National Trust is kind of a long shot because it was an unsolicited letter. I just wrote to them and asked for a full time staff writer job. I know they got it because I already got a response. If necessary, I can get in touch with the head of their digital content person directly and find out what's going on. I'll give it another few days.
In other news, mom informed me that a cousin of mine is coming to visit for a few days. This cousin is my mom's niece, who I haven't seen or spoken to in years. It's not because I'm mad at her or anything like that, it's more like circumstance. Now, I wouldn't know what to say beyond the pleasantries. It's kind of like that with everyone else I'm supposed to be related to-I don't what to say beyond the necessities. Kind of sad don't you think, I haven't kept in touch with anyone and vice versa. I was thinking about that today, on my way home from my errand. My birthday is a month away and every year it seems that certain people remember they're related to be and want to do something for me. I'll readily admit that I'm not that great about staying in touch with people but I certainly don't act like their new bestie on their birthday. This is what the situation seems to be around my birthday, everyone suddenly wants be my friend or claim kinship around my birthday. I know I used the word "seems" and I think it's a good choice because there is nothing to suggest a genuine relationship. Perhaps if certain family members were get directly in touch with me on s regular basis, I'd have a different opinion. Otherwise, no. Anyway, this cousin is allegedly coming in a few weeks and I have no idea what to say beyond the basics.
