All Is Right Again

Hello Everyone:

All is set to rights in the blogosphere. The wonderful Genius at the Apple Store in The Grove-big shout out to Piña-updated the operating system on the trusty laptop and all is well again. It took forever for the whole thing but I was as patient as I could be. Although, I don't know why he couldn't take it in the back and work on it. I really didn't like sitting there for over three hours. It wasn't as bad as the dude across from who was there from noon. You would think that with Apple's mega-billions they would install a coffee bar and work space in their stores. Why not?  I'm just happy all is well again.

In other news, mom has been showing, what I think, is a rather morbid interest in the violence in Israel. Since the start of the of the latest round of insanity, mom has been pressing me daily for the latest news. It's almost like she takes a particular sense of glee at the daily reports of carnage.  It's strange and morbid. The other thing mom was all in a twist about was an engagement party she went to yesterday evening. Naturally she didn't enjoy it but even more annoying to her was the fact that it was a "mixed" party. The hosts of the party, the bride's parents, go to the same synagogue as mom does and the rabbi does not approve of men and women intermingling at social occasions. Mom was all in a huff over the "mixing" of genders. Mom told me that the rabbi is the authority figure and the congregants must follow what he (always a he) says.  Since when?  Is the rabbi G-d or something?  This is one of the reasons I prefer not to follow any religion-blind obedience and conformity. It's ridiculous.  Why would anyone want to follow someone blindly?  This is what Judaism is about?  I don't think so. Whatever.
