Welcome to 2014

Hello Everyone:

It is officially 2014.  Happy New Year to you all.  I see my year is off to a great start with nearly 2,500 page views.  I think we can reach this by the end of the week.  I hope you enjoyed the playlist I posted last night.  If you have had a chance to listen to it yet, please do.  It's got some seriously funky dance music on it that's inspired me to change my spotify playlist.  In true Hollywood form, 2014 in Southern California is off to a great start.  The sun is shining, the weather is mild, and all is quiet.  I slept in this morning and went out running after 8:00 a.m, instead of my usual after 6:00 a.m.  It was so quiet, like it is in the early morning hours.  I guess a lot of people were sleeping off their parties.  The bf surprised me with a visit yesterday and let's just say, my year got started with a bang (wink, wink).  Unfortunately, he had to leave early because he has to work today at the job he's not happy about.  I spent the rest of the evening listening to the playlist I shared with you, reading, and watching the ball drop on Times Square at midnight.  Now I'm tired.

I suppose it's prophetic that it's beautiful day on January 1st.  I could look at it as the sun shining on a fresh page in the calendar.  The dawning of a new era, et cetera.  When you live in semi-desert climate, like Southern California, it's easy to take for granted the mild winter climate.  When have a nice day like today, especially a New Year's Day, it's easy to read it as a sign of good things to come.  I've never been a big believer in omens, good luck charms, or anything of the sort but there is something about a sunny New Year's Day that has a specialness to it.  I can't put my finger on it but there is something.  Maybe it's supposed to symbolize good things to come in the year.  I hope so.  In the run up to New Years, I kept hearing "may all your wishes come true."  I guess if enough people say it, then it'll happen.  I would like one very big wish to come true, finding stable, meaningful employment so that all my other wishes can come true.  Why is finding stable, meaningful employment so important to me?  The reason it is so important is that I will have the means to get my financial house in order so I can move out and live the life I'm meant to live.  What does that life look like?  It looks like a place of my own, no worries about having to decide whether to buy gas or groceries on any given week, not worrying about having to go to the doctor, or trying to decide which bill to pay each month.  You know little things like that.  Some people don't understand this because they've never had to worry about things like that. For those who've never had to worry about anything, great, good for you.  Unfortunately, there are those individuals, who've never had to worry about the bills, who have a very arrogant attitude.  All I can say to those people is the laws of the universe will catch up to you one day.

In the meantime, enjoy the music I posted and I hope you're year is off to a great start.
