Day two of mom in pre-family get together mode. So far, she's managed to keep the psychotic behavior in check. Then again, it's only Tuesday. Yesterday evening, I reminded mom that we needed another bottle of the 192. Not so much for everyone, more for me. Family becomes more tolerable after a shot of the stuff. For those of you who don't what 192 is, it's basically moonshine. It's pure grain alcohol infused with citron peels. The 192 will cure anything and, in a pinch, be a good substitute for gas. As usual mom is planning this elaborate banquet, which may include a vegetarian dish. Mom is of the opinion that if she doesn't put out, food-wise, she'll be stigmatized as a social pariah. This insanity to stage elaborate will only get worse as Passover approaches. Actually, this year it's more like "Peaster, Eastover?" Passover and Easter overlap each other this year. Will the Easter bunny bring the Afikoman? Stay tuned? LOL. I'm sort of in my duck-and-cover mode right now. Just keep calm and carry on. Keep calm, carry on and drink heavily. At least the bf is coming so I'll have some tolerable to talk to. That's, of course, the little nephew doesn't monopolize the bf's attention.
Right now I'm chatting with a senior driver's ed class about driving over seas. it's pretty funny and taking my mind off the impending lunacy of family get-togethers.
