Truce

Hello Everyone:

It's a warm Sunday in Southern California at the the tail end of a long weekend.  Sis and I called some sort of truce regarding our relationship.  I told her that relationships need work and that getting together once every few months with nothing in between is not enough.  This was in response to a lunch invitation for yesterday.  I talked it over with mom and the bf and ended up going over.  At the very least to pay a "get well" visit to my knucklehead teenage nephew who broke his leg skateboarding, without a helmet or pads, in anticipation of a snow boarding trip.  Right, like that's so not going to happen, ever.  Anyway, the lunch was good.  The bf came as well so it made it more tolerable.  The food was o.k, a bit bland for my taste, at least there was free flowing booze.  Anyway, there was a family, whose mom is an Art History professor, so I had someone to talk to.  At least dessert was good, jelly doughnuts and cookies, yum.  I did manage to be civil.  I used up my civil quota for the month.  Now I can go back to being my usual sarcastic self.  Yes, I can to civil but for a short period of time.  After a few hours I start to get bored and restless, especially if the company is dull like my family.  Anyway, regrading my relationship with sis, we'll see where it goes.  I'm not holding my breath about our relationship improving.  Some of it depends on her.  Did, she pay attention to the part of my response that said I needed some sort of regular contact, not once every few months?  I'm not going to take one step forward while she takes three steps back.  I don't do that dance.
