V-Day
Hello Everyone:
Today is V-Day, Vaccine Day. I can't believe I'm excited over getting a shot. Even stranger is being congratulated for it. I guess it's that shared sense of taking steps to beating back the pandemic. Would you believe someone thanked me for taking on a contact tracer job? A job that I consider nothing more than stop-gap employment. Anyway, I sat in on the morning session, which featured a rather nice talk by a former school principal on the role of empathy and compassion. It was a nice reminder that we're dealing with people who don't want to be told don't leave the house for two weeks and wear a mask because they were exposed to a disease with no known treatment and can kill them. Overall, I'm finding that the training is too rushed. The amount of information is a lot to take in a short period of time. There's all the administrative stuff (company training and paperwork) and the COVID-Community Engagement information. I feel that this could be spread out over two weeks. So far the Zoom calls are just plain dull. I'd rather go at my own pace. Even more annoying is the constant barrage of emails. Just send me the bloody meeting link and any other relevant information, please. I don't really care if someone had a technical hiccup. Anyway, I have to get ready for my appointment. I want to get there a little early so I can get it over with and brag.
