No Effort

Hello Everyone:

‘‘Twas the night before somebody’s holiday and all through house...well you sort of know where this is headed. I’m in a good mood right because I just watched a video of Bruce Springsteen doing a great version of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”  It’s my favorite version. I may not celebrate the holiday but, it’s Bruce so there. Another reason for my good mood is mum’s doctor appointment. Usually they’re draining but today was a little different. Essentially the doctor laid into mum about taking better care of herself. She grudgingly takes her medications but really hasn’t done anything else in the way of make herself feel better. She hasn’t changed her eating, gotten exercise, or followed her doctors’ orders. Instead she plays the suffering martyr and frankly that act’s way past its expiration date. Hearing her doctor tell her most of what I just said was gratifying because it means I’m right. However mum being mum, you can’t force her to do anything but if she doesn’t make some kind of an effort, she’ll just get the same results. I still think she enhances her ailments as a way to manipulate people into doing things for her. I’m over that too. Anyway, I’m hoping to use tomorrow as a catch up day. I do have some grocery shopping to do but it’s no big deal.
