Early Birthday Present
Hello Everyone:
Another day is almost done. By most standards (at least mine), it was quiet. The best part was getting an early birthday present, a phone upgrade. So happy about that one. Even better was that I accomplished it drama-free. Unlike previous phone issues, all it took was a quick text exchange between the BIL and I (he's the account holder and I had to tell him what my plans were) and a few taps on the screen. The new phone should be here a week or so. I also chose a nice wallet folio case to go with the new phone. The only other phone thing I have to do is transfer all my apps to the new phone. I did promise mum I'd give her my old phone so I have to go the mobile phone store and have them transfer her information. Minor stuff, if you ask me. I can probably do it myself but I just don't feel like it. Nevertheless, I'm happy I'm getting something I can really use. Speaking of birthdays, I already made clear that I have no intention of letting family member celebrate my birthday. After one too many lame and boring meals. topped off by some overly sugared supermarket cake, I had enough. Although, last year's cupcake bouquet was much appreciated. I'm also not into semi-wilted flowers or half deflated balloons. Besides, my birthday falls on a Friday and I have things to do. I know it sounds silly that I'd rather clean the kitchen and iron than take the day off but this way I don't have to think about the family feeling like they have to appease me. I really hate that. What I do love is the Brit BF's fantasy of a weekend get-away to Las Vegas or someplace equally great. Knowing me, it would take me the whole weekend just to get into the right frame of mind because I'm so focused on having something to do. Anyway, time for dinner.
