Having A Soapbox Moment
Hello Everyone:
A much quieter start to the week. The ankle is much better. I tried to jog on it today and managed slowly and for a short distance. Tomorrow I go back to the park. I started to get a little annoyed with mum today over really nothing. I switched my schedule around a little so that I do the Monday errand a little later. I went into the kitchen to make some food before heading into the blogosphere and found mum puttering by the stove. I tried to wait a few minutes but she seemed to take a little too long and I was hungry. I started to get short tempered with her. Really it was no big deal for me to wait until she was completely done. Sometimes the immediate need--in this case food--outweighs patience. Anyway, everything worked out fine. What else? I got a nice message from the Brit BF about some writing he's doing following the Women' World Cup. He's focused on the issue of equal pay for the winning U.S. Women' National Team. I never understood the logic of the pay disparity between men and women for doing the same work. It's an outdated idea that supposes men as the breadwinners and women' work as helping make ends meet or pocket money. Work is work, regardless of what it is. If a woman works the same number of hours doing the same thing, she should be paid the same wages, period, full stop. Okay, soapbox moment over. I need to run an errand.
