Damp weather aside, I managed to get dressed and go out to my workspace. Staying in my joggers all day was tempting but I wanted to have a place to write with a reasonably strong WiFi connection. I finished writing today's post a little early but not early enough to get back to the one I started yesterday. That I'll save for tomorrow. I decided to pick the Brit BF's brain for ideas about snappy attention getting introductory letter. If I'm going to cold send my resume to firms, I should have a good cover letter that'll get me noticed. He's usually pretty good about writing sizzle pieces. Me, I couldn't write about myself unless I really made a serious effort. I had to have help on my grad school admissions essay. I'm glad I did. My cover letters are usually the "hello-this is me-here's what I can do-please hire me" type. Really unexciting. I also want to clean up my resume so it sparkles. I can't embellish on it too much. The experience and education I have is what I have. I can toot my own horn a little but not exaggerate or lie about my qualifications. These things have a funny way of coming back to haunt you. Oh great the noisy after school tutoring session invaded my calm space. I really wish the teacher would learn to control her class. Okay back to my thoughts. I think if it's raining tomorrow, I'll stay in. I do have to buy groceries so I'll have to tough it out go out in the rain. Fortunately, the grocery store is close by. Funny moment of the day, mum got a cane. She had an appointment with a physical therapist today, she told him about her balance issues and believed that she needed a cane. Strangely, he obliged her. I say strangely because most of the time mum greatly exaggerates her ailments. I have no clue why the therapist agreed to this but okay. At the very least, I can use it for home security. It's metal so it could give any would be burglar a serious concussion. Almost any burglar, me excluded.
