Hello Everyone:
A good day in the blogosphere. I posted another article on Jane Jacobs. This one was about her and "master builder" Robert Moses. She opposed him in the sixties when he wanted to put a highway through Greenwich Village, New York City. Jane Jacobs and her allies won the war. What is most interesting thing is how much they paralleled contemporary times- he was the establishment and she was the populist who defeated the status quo. Really fascinating.
In other news, mom is giving me an argument over the proposed trip to the UK. She's having a problem with the Brit BF because he's not Jewish and Afro-English. Then there's issue of spending money. Mom was adding me about getting a temporary so I can ear a quick dollar before I go. A good idea, especially since I told her about the agency I signed up with. I still have to finish the online profile. The scary part is figuring out how much to charge. I haven't a clue. I still would prefer a steady permanent job but if this is the best I can do, then so be it. I'll keep looking for the grease to make my world spin. As to the other issue-the Brit BF-he is who he is. I suppose he could convert one day but right now, I don't want to push the issue. At least, not until I know for certain that he is the one. I won't really know if he is the one until I come back from the UK. Anyway, more later.
