Video Chat
Hello Everyone:
Wow, I can't believe it's been a week since I last wrote. All the hours I've been putting in at work are great for my bank account but they leave me feeling very drained. You could say that this is what work is like and you'd be right but retail customer service work is leaving me too tired to even think. It sometimes feels like even deciding what eat is too much effort. I'll admit that it would be nice to have someone in the house again who can cook so I don't have to do it all the time. It's not just the cooking, it's also the everything else. Trying to pull rabbits out of hats while dancing backwards in heels (retail customer service) is definitely not for the faint at heart. Layered on to this is a trainee with no retail experience whatsoever. Great. Even greater, he (it is a he) was hired into a manager-type role. He must have something in his background that made him a suitable candidate. Either that or someone is getting desparate for live warm bodies. He's a nice guy who seems to be picking up on the routine. There are still somethings that need to be worked on but I think he'll do that. In the meantime, I keep looking for something with better, more predictable hours and pay. I really wish the last school I applied to would get back to me about the teacher assistant job. I have to email someone to follow up. The best part of my Monday was a video chat with the Brit BF. It was so wonderful to see and hear him, tech gremlims notwithstanding. About two months ago he submitted a pitch to another children's television network and is working on a second for the same place. He's got a couple of good ideas, in my not so humble opinion, and hopefully the network will share my opinion. One of the things we chatted about was him moving to my hometown. He's been talking to the fiancee of his closet friend and sent him a link to a local legal clinic. Other than a work visa, the only way for him to smoothly immigrate to my hometown is a spousal visa. That means I'd have to sponsor him in. Now that I have some form of employment, I can maybe do that. It's a lot of paperwork, like everything else legal, and requires a certain amount of flaming hoop jumping to get get it accomplished. My real wish is that he get a work visa so his employer can take care of all the paperwork because I find anything related to government paperwork so distasteful. Anyway, on to more tasty things like dinner.
